One to one sessions
Low Tide Reiki
A quiet hour for your nervous system. Online or in person in Wicklow Town.
Reiki is a gentle Japanese practice. You stay fully clothed. I rest my hands lightly on or just above your body, in a sequence of held positions, while you lie down and breathe. That is the whole external description of what happens. There is no manipulation, no pressure, no chanting, no theatre.
What people tend to report is something simpler than the language around reiki often suggests. Slower breath. Loosened jaw. A kind of heaviness. Sometimes sleep. The kind of rest that is hard to engineer for yourself when you are wound tight from work, study, parenting, or a long week of holding it together.
I will not tell you what you are supposed to feel. People feel different things. Some people feel almost nothing in the room and then notice they slept properly that night. That is fine. Reiki is not a performance you have to pass.
What a session looks like
In person, Wicklow Town
Sessions run for around 60 minutes. You lie on a treatment couch, fully clothed, with a blanket if you want one. The room is quiet, warm, and low lit. I work through a standard hand position sequence, head to feet.
Online, anywhere
Sessions run for around 50 minutes over a video call. You lie down somewhere comfortable at home with headphones in. I open with a short breathwork settle, then hold a focused, structured intention for the duration while you rest. We close with a brief check in.
Whether the energetic component is doing something or not is honestly up to you to decide. What I can say with confidence is that an hour of structured rest, slowed breathing, and held attention from another person is genuinely good for a tired nervous system. That part is not in dispute.
Who this might suit
- You are constantly running on adrenaline and cannot remember the last time you actually rested without a screen.
- Talking therapy is useful but you also want something that does not require you to talk.
- You are curious about reiki but allergic to spiritual jargon and incense and being told what your aura is doing.
- You have tried meditation apps and bounce off them because lying still feels harder when you are alone with your own head.
- You want a low pressure way to take an hour back for yourself without it being framed as self care performance.
Who this is probably not for
- You are looking for a treatment for a specific medical condition. Reiki is not that. Speak to your GP.
- You want someone to tell you with certainty what your energy is doing or read your past lives. Not my service.
- You are in acute crisis. A reiki session is a complement to proper care, not a substitute for it.

Reiki sits within complementary therapy, not clinical medicine. The research evidence is mixed, and where benefits show up most consistently in studies they tend to centre on relaxation, reduced anxiety, and a general sense of wellbeing, rather than treating specific conditions.
What is on firmer ground is that structured rest, slowed breathing, and a calm, held environment have a measurable settling effect on the nervous system. A lot of what people get out of a reiki session lives in that space, which is why I think it is worth offering and worth coming to.
