Low Tide Calm is a free progressive web app for people managing stress, anxiety, burnout, ADHD and emotional dysregulation. It includes guided breathwork exercises, nervous system regulation protocols, a dopamine menu built with neurodivergent brains in mind, a Steady Focus tool for structured working sessions, a mood and energy check-in, a private journal, and crisis grounding tools. Everything runs on your device. No account, no subscription, and no internet connection needed after the first load. Available on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, the Microsoft Store, and as a Progressive Web App you can install from your phone browser in under a minute.

Low Tide Calm is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Works offline

No internet required after the first load. No account. No analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party tracking. Everything runs on your device.

Built for real moments

Designed for the moments when you are already dysregulated and need to act fast, not scroll through menus or read instructions.

Built for ADHD and neurodivergent brains

Neurodivergent-informed and practically designed. If you want to go deeper, the one-to-one programme builds on these tools with personalised support.

What's inside

Six tools. One app.

Breathe

Emergency Calm for one-tap 60-second relief, quick routines for morning reset and pre-meeting, and full breathing exercises including box breathing and 4-7-8. Use them any time, no guidance needed once you know them.

Regulate

Crisis Protocol for meltdown, shutdown or panic, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, a sensory menu, and Steady Focus, sometimes called body doubling: a timer with optional check-ins and gentle affirmations, not a live person. Structured and practical, not vague.

Dopamine Menu

Activities filtered by energy level and browseable by category: movement, creative, social, sensory. Built specifically for ADHD and neurodivergent nervous systems. Random picker included. Add your own.

Check-In

Log your current state from options including overwhelmed, shutdown, anxious, wired and calm. Seven-day history so you can spot patterns over time. No analysis, no pressure.

Home

A calm starting point with immediate access to crisis support and nervous system check-in. No dashboard, no notifications, no gamification.

Journal

A quiet space for quick thoughts. No prompts, no rules. Stored locally on your device and never sent anywhere.

Who it suits

Built for ADHD, anxiety, burnout and overwhelm.

If you have ADHD or a neurodivergent nervous system and find standard wellness apps either overwhelming or useless, this was made for you. The tools are reachable in two taps, require no reading when you are dysregulated, and were designed specifically around how ADHD and anxiety actually behave, not how clinicians assume they do. The Dopamine Menu filters by energy level when you cannot choose, and Steady Focus gives you a structured timer with calm visual pacing for the tasks that feel impossible alone.

It also suits anyone managing chronic stress, burnout, or high-pressure work who needs something practical, private, and always to hand. You do not need to be a client to use it, and it stands alone independently of any programme.

Low Tide Calm is not a meditation streak app. Not a therapy replacement. Not a productivity tracker in disguise. Open it, use what you need, close it.

If you are a therapist looking for tools to share with clients, or an HR or wellbeing professional considering resources for your organisation, Low Tide Calm has dedicated information for therapists and organisations and HR teams.

Good to know

Common questions answered.

What is a web app?
A web app is a website that installs and behaves like a native app on your phone, without going through an app store. You open it in your browser, add it to your home screen, and it then opens in full screen with no browser bar, like any other app. See the iPhone and Android entries below for exact step-by-step instructions.
How exactly do I install on iPhone?
Open Safari (it must be Safari, not Chrome or any other browser). Go to lowtidecalm.ie/low-tide-calm-app/ and tap Try the web app. Once the app has loaded, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with the upward arrow). Scroll down inside the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add. The Low Tide Calm icon will appear on your home screen and opens like any other app. The first time you open it you need an internet connection. After that it works fully offline.
How exactly do I install on Android?
You have two options. Easiest: install directly from Google Play. Or use the web app version: open Chrome, go to lowtidecalm.ie/low-tide-calm-app/, tap Try the web app, then tap the three-dot menu in the top right and tap Install App or Add to Home Screen. The icon will appear on your home screen and opens in full screen.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The Progressive Web App needs an internet connection the first time you open it, so it can load and cache to your device. After that first visit it works fully offline. The Google Play, Amazon Appstore and Microsoft Store versions are all live now and work offline from the moment they are installed. A version is coming soon to the Samsung Galaxy Store.
Which app stores is it available on?
It is live right now in four places. You can use it as a Progressive Web App in your browser on any device, with the option to add it to your home screen so it behaves exactly like a native app. It is also live on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore and the Microsoft Store. A version is coming soon to the Samsung Galaxy Store. To install the web app, on iPhone tap Share then Add to Home Screen. On Android tap the three-dot menu then Install App.
Is it suitable for people with ADHD?
Yes. The app was designed with ADHD and neurodivergent nervous systems in mind. The Dopamine Menu offers low-effort activities to support mood and motivation when executive function is low, filtered by energy level so you are not overwhelmed with choice. All tools are reachable in two taps with no reading or setup required when you are already dysregulated. The Regulate tab also includes tools for demand avoidance and sensory overwhelm.
Is my data private?
Yes, completely. The app collects no personal data. No analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party tracking SDKs are embedded in the app. Your check-in history, mood logs, journal entries, and any custom entries are stored locally on your device using your browser's storage. They are not sent to a server, not collected, and not accessible to anyone else, including Low Tide Calm. Settings include a Hide Journal toggle for shared-phone privacy and an optional Return to Home idle timer so a sensitive screen does not sit visible if you walk away. Full details in the privacy policy.
Where can I see the app privacy policy & terms?
The full privacy policy and terms of use are published at lowtidecalm.ie/privacy-policy-app/. They cover what is stored on your device, why nothing is sent to a server, the GDPR position, and the standard medical disclaimer. Both documents are written in plain English.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-up, and no email address required. Open the link and use it.
Will I lose my data if I clear my browser?
Yes. Because the app stores your check-in history, journal entries and custom entries in local storage on your device, clearing your browser cache or storage will remove them. Your breathwork tools, grounding protocols, and the dopamine menu defaults are built into the app itself and are not affected.
Can I use it on more than one device?
Yes, but each installation is independent. Data does not sync between devices. Your check-in history on your phone will not appear on your laptop, and the other way around.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely free. No trial, no premium tier, no hidden cost. If you find it useful and want to support the work, there are optional ways to do that on this page, but there is no obligation and the app does not change either way.

Free. No catch.

The app is free for everyone. No account, no sign-up, no subscription. Open it in your browser and add it to your home screen in under a minute.
