Working Online with Low Tide Calm
Low Tide Online
Breathwork and Mindfulness
From the Comfort of Home
Live, one-to-one virtual sessions via Google Meet. Structured, evidence-informed breathwork and mindfulness for stress relief, nervous system regulation, and focus. Work with a certified breathing coach from anywhere in the world.
You do not need to travel to a studio, a clinic, or a retreat to work on your breathing and your nervous system. Every session at Low Tide Calm is available online via Google Meet, delivered live and one-to-one, from wherever you are.
Your living room, your home office, your bedroom. Wherever you feel most settled. That is where the work happens.
This is not a pre-recorded course or a meditation app. These are live, structured sessions with a certified practitioner who works primarily with the Buteyko breathing method, functional breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices built specifically for neurodivergent adults. If traditional meditation has never worked for you, this is a practical, body-based alternative that builds calm and relaxation through your breath rather than asking you to sit in silence.
You can be in London, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney, or sitting at your kitchen table ten minutes down the road. Remote coaching and facilitation means the format is the same wherever you are, and so are the results. Clients worldwide use these virtual sessions for stress relief, burnout recovery, and building a regulated nervous system from the comfort of their own home.
Why Home Is the Best Place to Do This Work
Most people assume breathwork and mindfulness need a special setting. They do not. The core of this work is somatic and internal. You are learning to notice how you breathe, how your body holds stress, and how to shift your nervous system out of survival mode. None of that requires a practitioner in the room with you.
```You are in your real environment
When you practise breathing techniques in the same space where you work, sleep, or feel most overwhelmed, your nervous system learns to regulate in that exact context. The skills transfer immediately.
No commute, no sensory overwhelm
For neurodivergent clients especially, arriving at a session already settled instead of dysregulated from travel makes a significant difference to the quality of the work.
It fits around your day
Without travel time, you can book a session during a lunch break, between meetings, or first thing in the morning. Many clients who work from home find a midday session is the most effective nervous system reset.
The research supports it
A meta-analysis of 15 randomised controlled trials found that online mindfulness interventions produced significant improvements in stress, depression, anxiety, and wellbeing. Guided sessions showed significantly better outcomes than self-guided programmes.
What Online Sessions Look Like
Every client starts with a structured programme, not a one-off session. Breathwork and mindfulness are skills that build over time, and lasting change does not come from a single hour on Google Meet.
The most common starting point is the Foundation Basics: a three-session programme built around the Buteyko method combined with mindfulness techniques. Sessions run for approximately 45 minutes, one-to-one, via Google Meet. No account or download needed.
For people who want the full pathway, a six-session bundle covers Foundation Basics and Advanced Consolidation together. There is also a dedicated Mindfulness-Only Programme (six sessions) for people who prefer a quieter, trauma-informed, body-based approach without breathwork.
Across a typical programme, you will:
- Learn to assess your own breathing using the control pause (BOLT score), an objective measure of breathing efficiency and nervous system regulation
- Practise evidence-based functional breathing techniques that increase carbon dioxide tolerance, reduce chronic overbreathing, and shift your nervous system toward a calmer baseline. Many clients notice improved sleep, sharper focus, and reduced anxiety within the first week of practice
- Build a personalised daily practice that takes 5 to 10 minutes, not 30
- Develop grounded, body-based mindfulness skills, not the "clear your mind" approach that most neurodivergent people find impossible
After completing a programme, follow-up single sessions are available for ongoing support, troubleshooting, and refining your regulation tools.
Who This Is For
Low Tide Calm works primarily with adults who experience stress, burnout, anxiety, low mood, or emotional dysregulation. Many clients are neurodivergent, including adults with ADHD and autistic adults who find that mainstream wellbeing and mental health approaches do not work for them. If you are dealing with ADHD burnout specifically, this work is designed with you in mind. You can explore the full range of issues we work with here.
Online sessions from home are a particularly good fit if:
```You work from home or remotely
The boundaries between work stress and personal space have collapsed for a lot of remote workers. If you cannot switch off after work, breathwork gives you a physical tool to create separation and reset your nervous system without leaving your desk. If your employer or HR team is looking for wellbeing support for remote teams, Low Tide Calm offers that too.
You live outside Ireland
Low Tide Calm is based in Wicklow, Ireland, but online clients come from across the UK, Europe, and beyond. If you want a practitioner who specialises in evidence-informed breathwork and nervous system regulation, location is not a barrier.
Apps have not worked for you
Apps deliver generic content to millions. They cannot see how you breathe, adapt in real time, or tell you that you are chest breathing or holding your breath between sentences. Live sessions can.
You are a mouth breather or chronic chest breather
These are not personality quirks. They are dysfunctional breathing patterns that directly affect your nervous system, your sleep quality, your focus and concentration, and your anxiety levels. If you are holding your breath without realising it, breathwork retrains your patterns toward nasal breathing and a calmer baseline. Many clients also find that panic attacks and overwhelm reduce significantly once their breathing is corrected.
Traditional mindfulness has not worked for you
If your brain does not sit still, sitting in silence and "observing your thoughts" can feel like torture. The approach here is adapted for neurodivergent minds that need structure and something concrete to focus on.
This work is not therapy and does not replace medical treatment. It sits alongside those things as a practical, body-based skill set for managing your nervous system day to day. If you need immediate support, see our mental health resources page.

About the Practitioner
Low Tide Calm is run by Cian, a certified mindfulness teacher (Mindfulness Now UK), trained Buteyko breathing facilitator, and remote breathing coach based in Wicklow, Ireland. He works with clients across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and worldwide via Google Meet.
His approach comes directly from lived experience of ADHD and burnout. That is why sessions are structured, direct, and practical. There is no spiritual language, no ambient music, and no pressure to feel a certain way. The focus is on what works: evidence-informed stress relief, functional breathing, and nervous system regulation you can use every day.
Low Tide Calm also offers a free app for Android with breathing exercises, a nervous system regulation toolkit, and a dopamine menu, all designed specifically for neurodivergent users. You can also browse digital resources in the shop and read more on the Low Tide blog.
Frequently Asked Questions
```Can breathwork and mindfulness really be taught effectively online?
Yes. The Buteyko method and functional breathing techniques are well suited to online delivery. The practitioner guides you verbally while observing your breathing patterns and posture on camera. A meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials found that guided online mindfulness interventions produced significantly better outcomes than self-guided programmes, supporting the value of live one-to-one sessions over apps and recorded content.
Do I need any prior experience?
No. Most clients have little or no experience with breathwork or mindfulness. The programme starts wherever you are and builds from there.
How is this different from using a mindfulness app?
Apps deliver pre-recorded, generic content. Low Tide Calm sessions are live, one-to-one, and adapted to your specific breathing patterns, nervous system state, and needs. You get real-time feedback from a practitioner who can see and hear how you breathe.
Is this suitable for people with ADHD or autism?
Yes. Low Tide Calm's approach is specifically designed for neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, autism, or both. Sessions are structured, practical, and adapted for brains that find traditional meditation and mainstream wellbeing approaches frustrating or inaccessible.
I work from home. Can I fit this around my schedule?
Yes. Without travel time, many clients book sessions during lunch breaks or between meetings. A 45-minute session from your home office is one of the most effective ways to reset your nervous system during a working day.
What time zones do you cover?
Sessions are typically available during GMT, CET, and EST hours. Other time zones can be accommodated on request.
How many sessions will I need?
The most common starting point is Foundation Basics, a three-session programme at €220. For people who want the full Buteyko and mindfulness pathway, a six-session bundle is available at €400. There is also a Mindfulness-Only Programme (six sessions, €300) for people who prefer a quieter approach without breathwork. After completing any programme, on-demand single sessions are available at €60. Full pricing is on the sessions and pricing page.
Can I do Buteyko breathing sessions online?
Yes. The Buteyko method is particularly well suited to virtual delivery. The practitioner guides you through reduced breathing exercises, nose breathing techniques, and control pause measurements while observing your posture and breathing patterns on camera. Many Buteyko practitioners worldwide now offer remote sessions, and Low Tide Calm specialises in combining Buteyko with mindfulness for neurodivergent clients.
Do you offer online coaching for stress relief?
Yes. Stress relief is one of the primary outcomes of this work. The programme combines Buteyko breathing techniques with mindfulness-based practices to reduce chronic stress, lower anxiety, and help your nervous system shift out of a constant fight-or-flight state. Clients often report improved sleep, better focus, and a greater sense of calm within the first few sessions.
Is this therapy?
No. This is non-clinical coaching, facilitation, and education. There is no diagnosis, no treatment, and no working through your past. The work is skills-based and practical. That said, for many people it works particularly well alongside therapy. Your therapist works on the underlying material; these sessions give you practical tools for managing your nervous system in between. The two approaches often reinforce each other well.
Is the breathwork safe? I have a health condition.
The breathwork taught here is functional and evidence-informed, not extreme. Techniques like box breathing, the physiological sigh, and extended exhale work are the same methods used in clinical rehabilitation, sports science, and stress management. They are gentle, controlled, and nothing like intensive hyperventilation-style approaches. If you have a cardiac condition, epilepsy, or are in the later stages of pregnancy, a conversation before booking is a good idea. The free screening call is partly there to check suitability.
What is the difference between the breathwork programme and the mindfulness-only programme?
Both programmes run for approximately 45 minutes per session. The breathwork and mindfulness programme uses Buteyko-informed breathing protocols for stress, sleep, focus, and regulation, combined with mindfulness practices. It is more physically active and works directly with the breath as a tool. The mindfulness-only programme focuses on attention training, thought awareness, and building a steadier relationship with your nervous system, with no breathwork involved. It suits people who find breathwork overwhelming, destabilising, or simply not their thing. The free screening call is there to help you decide.
What happens on the screening call?
It is a 15 to 20 minute conversation, not an assessment. You do not need to prepare anything. We talk about what has brought you here, what you have tried before, and whether the approach seems like a good fit. You will have the chance to ask anything about how sessions work. Nothing is decided or committed to on the call itself.
Can I reschedule or cancel a session?
Yes. Sessions rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice are changed at no charge. Requests with less than 48 hours notice are handled on a case-by-case basis. The booking confirmation sets out the full terms.
What if I have experienced trauma?
This is worth raising on the screening call rather than assuming it rules anything out. The breathwork techniques used here are functional and gentle, not intensive or cathartic. The mindfulness-only programme is specifically designed for people who need a steadier, less activating approach, and it is trauma-aware and choice-based throughout. If you have a significant trauma history or are currently working with a therapist on trauma-related material, bring that to the conversation and we will work out what makes sense.
